Resurfacing starts on A303

A six-week resurfacing project gets underway this week on the A303 in Hampshire.

The Highways Agency will work on the dual arriageway between 10pm and 6am on weekdays from 29 May to 9 July.

The project will see the road, which effectively links Exeter with the M3, resurfaced between Micheldever Station and the A34.

Highways Agency project sponsor Guy Watts said: “The work will involve the complete resurfacing of the A303 in both directions, providing a new smoother road surface for drivers and maintaining safety by improving skid resistance. This means our infrastructure will continue to support the economy in Hampshire.

“To minimise disruption we have planned work to take place overnight, when traffic flows are at their lowest, and a clearly signed diversion will be in place so that drivers can continue their journeys.”
