Restructuring pays off for Weeks

MANAGEMENT RESTRUCTURING and reorganisation of core businesses within the Weeks Group seems to have paid off , w ith an 18% increase in profits last year.

The group now consists of three operating divisions - Weeks Consulting, Weeks Laboratories and Weeks Pavements - and made £785,000 profit on a £15.5M turnover.

Chief executive Phillip Hill, who took the helm last autumn, explained that a strategic review of the business resulted in the re-organisation.

He added that the group would now review opportunities to diversify the business into international markets and non-construction related materials testing as well as broadening the range of multi-disciplinary skills it offers.
