Infrastructure in 2014: Powering up for a new age

Colin, you make sound so ethical, but the material produced is still radioactive for how long....and where are you going to put it for 10,000 years, who is going to monitor it? What happens when the containment fails? Is it insurable, (no)? what are you going to do with the reactor? spend several billion pulling it apart...who will pay for that? ?Us or GE Hitachi? And if they go bust or sell of to another company that goes bust who picks up the threads.....oh yeah, the tax payer again... Nice try but you don't impress anyone! As for footprint, will your rig help to reduce tidal surges and north winds to help prevent london form flooding? No. But the offshore rigs do. Do offshore rigs have more jobs associated with them? Yes they do. Do they cost a fraction of decommissioning a nuclear genset to decommission. Yes they do. Can you recylce all the steel? Yes you can. Can't recycle much of nuclear station can you untill it loses it radioactivity.
