Remote sensing for extreme environments

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is inviting research proposals for funding of remote sensing in extreme environments.

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is inviting research proposals for funding of remote sensing in extreme environments.

The EPSRC said that it was inviting proposals for collaborative research projects that focused on the application of remote or autonomous technologies to maximise performance of assets and systems in extreme environments.

It said that it aimed to bridge the gap between the fundamental development of sensors and related technologies and the application of these in extreme or challenging environments.

The council said that between £4M to £6M had been allocated to the research and it expected to fund three to five projects over a three-year period.

The closing date for applications is 2 August.
