Regionalisation timeline

Cover story

Four pilot regional support teams have been in operation in Midlands, North West, South West and East of England since 2003.

September 005:

Appointment of remaining regional managers - the North East, Yorkshire & Humber, East Midlands, London and South East (see map).

October 2005: South, South East and Thames Valley regions to merge to form a single South East region.

March 2006: appoint membership, communications and administrative executives to complete regional support teams.
