Reducing risk

Electronic Document Management can help control the risks associated with major development projects, says PAFEC.

The terms of the Construction Act now add intense pressure, requiring speeding up of claims settlement. Solid electronic document management will now make the difference between winning or losing the claims process, believes Pafec.

Railtrack has implemented a large PAFEC EDM system for document management. And architect Foster & Partners has this year expanded use of the system through a pilot scheme which provides the ability to scan all incoming drawings and make them available for viewing and approval. Industrial property investment and development company Slough Estates has also placed an order this year for its construction division.
