Reconstruction in India will cost $1.2bn following Tsunami

Reconstruction in India following the Tsunami will cost $1.2bn a joint report by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank said this week. Tamil Nadu was the worst affected state and reconstruction in this area will cost $853M.

The banks and the United Nations are now in talks to determine which sectors of the reconstruction programme they will fi nance.
