Rebuilding trust

ANALYSIS

Rehousing the returning Kosovo refugees and rebuilding the infrastructure will be a massive task. But also, and perhaps more difficult, will be rebuilding the trust between the ethnic groups.

In comparable situations it has been found that people from different communities working together on constructive projects can be a powerful force for rebuilding relations between groups. We believe construction organisations carrying out the rebuilding and reconstruction should be encouraged to employ people from both communities on any given project as a means to achieving this.
