Rat delivers meals on wheels

Trakrat is a diesel powered utility vehicle which has been specifically designed for railway contractors. The vehicle itself provides transport for crews and incorporates lghting and power for operating hydraulic and electrical tools.

A feature of the vehicle is its powered trailer system. The trailers are fitted with hydraulic motors powered from the Trackrat and have a towing capacity of 8t. Manufacturer Group Engineering has designed these trailers so that they can act as platforms for a wide range of bespoke units. These could be drum carriers, access units, hoppers or even messing facilities.

Group Engineering claims that cost reductions can be achieved with the use of this system which provides engineering staff with an independent method of getting to the work site with all the necessary equipment for the job in hand.
