Ramboll expands into North America

Consultant Ramboll has opened its first office in North America to focus on waste-to-energy, offshore wind and district energy projects.

Ramboll USA has appointed Stephen C Schwarz as Country Director, who was environmental engineering consultancy Malcolm Pirnie president. The office will be located in New York.

Ramboll, who recently completed the acquisition of Gifford in the UK, has been active in North America for the past seven years, working as a strategic adviser and technical specialist.

With the opening of this permanent base in the USA the group offers full project support to North American clients in the energy sector - from planning to implementation - using its global experience to deliver cost-effective and reliable energy solutions.

The establishment of Ramboll USA is in line with the strategy for growth of Ramboll’s Energy division which aims to further grow to 700 staff by 2012 through acquisitions combined with strong organic growth.
