Railtrack shareholders case opened at High Court

The case of 49,000 Railtrack shareholders' against the government opened at the High Court this week. The shareholders claim the government abused its power by winding up the company, rendering their shares worthless. If the shareholders' case is successful, a second trial for damages will take place.

Former transport secretary Stephen Byers is expected to give evidence. The trial continues.
