Quadrennial International conference

XVI ICSMGE 12-16 September, Grand Cube Osaka, Japan. Quadrennial International conference on soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering, supported by the Japanese Geotechnical Society and the Science Council of Japan, focusing on geotechnology in harmony with the global environment.

There are five main themes:

soil mechanics, infrastructure and mobility, environmental issues of geotechnical engineering, enhancing natural disaster reduction systems, professional practice and education.

Technical visits will be held to see construction of the second island at Kansai International Airport, the Earthquake Memorial Nojima Fault Museum and Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the remains of the 1995 Kobe earthquake and construction of the Nakanoshima New Line underground railway in Osaka.

Poster sessions and a technical exhibition will run alongside the conference.
