Push for the profession

ICE news

The South East Association has been successfully plugging the profession to the public.

A lecture was held on the moving of the Belle Tout Lighthouse recently. The public meeting was advertised locally and most of the 100 people who attended were locals with no ICE links.

The owner of the Belle Tout Lighthouse Mark Roberts spoke at the meeting about the decision to slide the building rather than reconstruct it. Head of special contracts for Abbey Pynford Tim Jolley also spoke of the move illustrating how it was planned and executed with slides and videos of the various stages of the work. There were also displays of photographs of the Belle Tout and a model created by students of the University of Brighton.
