PUBLIC SHOW: Revised plans for Railtrack's long-awaited Thameslink 2000 projects have been put on show to the public revealing radical re- engineering of structures at Borough Market viaduct (ABOVE) and Farringdon and Blackfriars stations. At Borough High Street, lead consultant Tony Meadows Architects, in conjunction with engineers Anthony Hunt and Scott Wilson Railways, has refined

the original Aspen Burrows Crocker designed viaduct in response to local consultation to produce a slimmer structure with shorter spans and more columns. The result makes use of off site prefabrication and smaller foundation designs to reduce costs as well as local and environmental impact.
