Protocol committing civil engineers signed

The ICE, American Society of Civil Engineers and the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering have signed a protocol committing civil engineers to tackling climate change and global poverty. The 'Engineering a sustainable future for the planet' protocol requires the three institutions to draw up a plan to deliver and maintain infrastructure in a more environmentally-friendly and financially-sound way by the end of this year. The protocol was developed by ICE vicepresident Paul Jowitt.
