Protect land and your car

Surely Jackie Whitelaw cannot be serious when she suggests concreting over more of the countryside to provide ground level park and ride car parks.

To my knowledge the technology is available to provide automatic parking and retrieval of cars from traditional car parks so that drivers do not actually have to enter the structure, with retrieval times comparable to the time it takes normally to locate your car and drive out.

The initial investment required is obviously more, but would be balanced against increased security and above all reduced landtake.

Mike Paul (Eng. Tech),

In last week's issue John Walton's letter was credited to KG Randall. Apologies to both.
