Promptness is as promptness does


I can only endorse the view of Alun Thomas (NCE 24 January) that it is time the ICE started to show some loyalty and better value to its members, and I believe that there is no better place to start than the subscription 'service'.

Every year without fail increasing subscription demands drop through the letterbox, and every year without fail it takes months for a receipt to be forwarded, even after many phone calls and letters.

This situation is simply untenable, and I for one am considering my future as a member of an Institution that treats prompt payment with what I can only describe as contempt.
