lonsultant FaberMaunsell is trialling SABRE, a new site safety tool, on all construction sites belonging to the supermarket firm ASDA. SABRE uses a handheld computer to make construction site safety audits faster, simpler and consistently accurate.

The guidelines have been prepared in response to recommendations in the 10th report of the Standing Committee on Structural Safety (SCOSS), and advocate the need for a more systematic approach to checking.
