Projects and products - Trent Concrete

New Concrete Engineering

Precast concrete cladding from Trent Concrete will feature on the new headquarters of marine and aquaculture insurance specialist Sunderland Marine at Aykley Heads, near Durham. Architect Nicholson Nairn specified a combination of reconstructed stone and natural brick faced panels for the project, and went for precast, says Trent, to enhance the architectural quality of a prestigious building located in a sensitive conservation area.

Shallow etched reconstructed Bath stone piers, mullions and wall panels will be used to form an arch effect on the north and west elevations. Wall panels faced with Baggeridge Corium buff-coloured bricks will make up the other elevations.

Trent's contract is worth £255,000 and site deliveries are scheduled to start in November.
