The Scottish Executive has set up a working group of local council officials to identify funding options for a £73M project to reopen the former Waverley railway line from Edinburgh to Carlisle via the Scottish borders. The decision followed a 10month feasibility study by Scott Wilson which considered topics from traffic demand to economic impact.
