Profession collects its share of honours

WELSH OFFICE director of highways Keith Thomas (F) and former Shell chairman and chief executive Christopher Fay (F) both received CBEs in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

ICE members receiving OBEs included Highways Agency project director Dr Parag Chandra Das (M), SIAS managing director Stephen Druitt (M), Allan Mowatt (F) for services to highways and transportation, and Bachy Soletanche development director Peter Shiells (F).

Former ICE Council member John Fisher (F) gets an MBE for services to education and training in construction, and Edward Ruddock (M) receives the same award for his services to architecture and building conservation. They are joined by OFWAT Southern Customer Service Committee member Harry Speight (F) and Major John Pelton (M).

Marie-Noelle Barton receives an MBE for services to the Engineering Council's Women in Science & Engineering campaign.
