Who's doing what in the road world.

Halifax firm Marshalls has launched a pre-cast concrete traffic calming ramp designed to reduce vehicle wear while retaining slow driver speeds.

Dubbed the S Ramp, it has a sine curve profile which prevents jarring providing a vehicle hits it at the correct pace. Impact is accommodated by shock-absorbers rather than tyres, Marshalls says.

The ramp is formed with a keyed base to aid stability and is complemented with kerbside drainage, transition and side units.
