Client guide

Until the prime contracting regime is fully implemented Defence Estates will continue to procure construction through competitive tender. GC Works has been Defence Estates' standard contract form. However, it is to be replaced this summer with a new model, Defcon 2000, designed in the spirit of prime contracting to encourage partnering, value engineering and improved supply chain management.

Projects to be let include:

Construction of access roads, Trowbridge, Wiltshire. Value £25M

Pavement restoration, RAF Kinloss. Value £15M

Pavement construction, RAF Finningley. Value £10M.

Power distribution upgrading at Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Value £5M

Sewerage, Brandon, Suffolk. Value £3M

High voltage distribution system at Sleaford, Lincolnshire. Value £2.8M

Water distribution system, RAF Lossiemouth. Value £2M

Taxiway refurbishment, Holyhead, Gwynedd. Value £2M

Construction of a perimeter road, Brandon, Suffolk. Value £2M
