Prime Minister Tony Blair has opened the pounds7M fixed link between the Hebridean islands of Scalpay and Harris. The 1km link, which includes a 300m stiffened steel box girder bridge with reinforced concrete deck slab, was designed by Halcrow Crouch and built by Edmund Nuttall.
