I agree whole-heartedly with Mark Whitby's comments regarding speed cameras (NCE 20 June). The correspondents who argue against them in your letters page make it clear that they are habitual law breakers who believe it is alright for them to speed as the root of the problem lies with everyone else's bad driving.

NCE 's poll showed that 41% agreed with Mr Whitby. That's not bad for an industry dominated by road builders.
