Plans to rescue a pounds500M extension to the Los Angeles Metro were expected to receive official backing from the California state governor as Ground Engineering went to press. Work on the 31km light rail link between LA and East Pasadena was put on hold in January after LA Metropolitan Transport Authority ran into financial difficulties following tunnelling failures on the metro's North Hollywood extension.
