Portsmouth traffic woes to be alleviated

Portsmouth City Council has released its 2011/2012 traffic plans to ease congestion on a major route into the city.

The Council has proposed to build a second southbound lane on the Eastern Road between Swordsands Road and Milton Road, which will give two lanes to both traffic directions for the entire length.

The council is consulting on these proposals and others until 23 September.
