Poole roads review to be published next month

An independent review into the controversial layout around Poole’s new iconic Twin Sails bridge is to be published next month.

Poole Borough Council confirmed the report by transport expert Phil Jones Associates will be presented to the council’s Economy Overview & Scrutiny Committee on 13 November 2013.

The new two bridge road system installed following the completion of the Twin Sails bridge has received criticism from local residents who allege that it has restricted access and encourages speeding.

“The period for members of the public to comment on the two bridge road system has now ended,” said a Poole Borough Council spokesman. “The independent expert witness is currently compiling his report and will present his recommendations to members of the Economy Overview & Scrutiny Committee on 13 November.”
