Polling appalling

I was appalled to read that only 11.6% of ICE members bothered to vote in the recent consultation ballot on this fundamental issue of the continuation of the ICE as an independent body. Do they care so little for the future of this Institution?

However, it is clear that the Institution leadership is trying to take us down this merger route and did its best to ensure that the turnout would be low by including the voting paper with those for committee members, knowing that the great majority of members will consign the whole envelope into the bin.

It seems our 'modernising' leadership is intent on taking the Institution along a particular path regardless of members' views, and I wish to challenge them to re-run the merger ballot, this time giving it proper publicity.
