Plans submitted for £89M Bexhill to Hastings Link Road

A planning application has been submitted for a Bexhill to Hastings link road by East Sussex County Council.
The application will now be considered by the public in a six-week consultation period. A decision about whether to grant planning permission will be made later in the year.If successful, the scheme will be complete in 2011, subject to approval and funding. The scheme will bring the area significant economic benefits.Cllr Matthew Lock, the East Sussex lead cabinet member for transport and environment said, 'It has taken a lot of time and hard work to make sure this proposal has the excellent economic and environmental credentials it has and I am delighted that we are now at the stage of seeking planning permission.'I believe that the link road is essential for the future regeneration of Hastings and Bexhill but it is now time for members of the public to make up their own minds.'
