Piling into Olympia

GEOTECHNICAL aspects of tunnelling will be under the spotlight next month at the first International Tunnelling and Piling conference and exhibition at Olympia.

Running from 8-10 September, the event has evolved from the Tunnelling biennial events which have been held since 1976.

Bringing the piling community into the event, through the Federation of Piling Specialists as co-sponsor, reflects the increasingly high profile role that geotechnical engineers take in tunnelling, especially soft ground urban projects typified by the Jubilee Line Extension.
