Piling for people


STENT FINISHED piling for a major residential scheme alongside the Regent's Canal in east London last month.

The Places for People develop ment in Orsman Road, Hackney includes 71 homes, a nursery, cafe and commercial space.

Last autumn the foundation contractor built a 197m long, 600mm diameter secant pile wall around the site. After bulk excavation it returned to install 196, 450mm diameter load-bearing CFA piles up to 22m deep using a Soilmec CM48 rig. Main contractor for the work is Mansell Construction Services.
