Piling for Disco forces

Green Piling returned to the Flamingoland theme park in North Yorkshire at the end of last year to install foundations for new ride 'The Disco'The ride spins at ground level then soars into the air changing the axis of rotation from vertical to horizontal.'This puts unusual forces into the piles, 'said director Phil Bates.Ground conditions are fill and soft natural ground down to 5m on glacial till that by 10m is sufficiently stiff to support the compression and tension forces and bending moments demanded by the ride.The Rotherham-based contractor has previously piled for three other rides at the site.
