PERFECT PITCH

PERFECT PITCH: Sir Alan Cockshaw and members of the South Wales association are shown around the site of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff by Pat Thompson of Laing Construction. Due for Completion in June 1999, the 72,500 capacity stadium will cost £130M with £46M from the Millennium Commission. Cockshaw was earlier shown detailed plans of a stadium which will feature grass on moveable pallets which are alternated to ensure the whole pitch gets enough sunlight, and the first retractable roof in a UK stadium.
