Peel to begin on business park

Peel is to start work on Astley Business Park in Wigan next month.

The Manchester-based property group has been given consent to build 1,587 metres square of offices and industrial development on the 16ha site near the East Lancashire Road.

A new Cloverleaf pub will also be built on the site. The business park is set to open next spring.

“In a particularly difficult market it is encouraging to be able to launch a scheme with a commitment to commence infrastructure works and also announce the arrival of Cloverleaf pubs,” said Peel development manager Matthew Fitton.

“During a period when the UK and global economic outlook is still uncertain, it is crucial when offering new build bespoke accommodation, to work with a landowner who has both the financial strength and extensive experience to deliver a high quality product, said King Sturge head David Brooks. “We are delighted, therefore, to be working with Peel on this exciting new scheme.”
