Waste reduction. Colour coded waste skips are used to separate recyclable waste. An audit of the 200m3 waste/month indicates 40% could be recycled. Partnering with waste treatment contractor.

Demolition waste has been reused as haul road fill; reusable formwork also employed.

Electrical subcontractor, ABB doubled up on light fittings per box,reducing waste packaging.

A £20M joint venture was created with mechanical subcontractor Sulzer cutting the contract cost by £5M. Risks are shared - if one contractor defaults, the other takes on risk and interfaces are reduced.
