Out of order

Letters

As chairman of the Association of Specialist Underpinning Contractors, and on behalf of our members, I take issue with the comments made by John Lloyd of Alliance Piling (NCE last week).

Mr Lloyd's comments are wildly inaccurate and show a distinct lack of knowledge as to how our association conducts itself. Any contractors considering joining the association are free to attend any of our general meetings to acquaint themselves with the workings of the association prior to submitting an application.

May I extend an invitation to Mr Lloyd to attend our next general meeting as I am sure that once he sees how the members and honorary members are striving to improve our industry, he will want to make an application for membership.

Vic Handley, chairman, Association of Specialist Underpinning Contractors, Association House, 99 West Street, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7EN
