Out of body experience

Following his recent visit to the House Of Commons, should the Council reconsider Mark Whitby's suitability as our next president? Civil engineers have enough problems getting work without getting a president who upsets a major client.

A loyal ICE spokesman said that the MPs had been 'unfair on (sic) Whitby'. We all know how unfair employers can be, but were they so unfair in expecting specific examples in support of his proposals?

We all know the old saw about employers being many things - irrational, ignorant, stupid, lazy, even impatient, But they are never, never wrong.

Perhaps it was just as well that he was speaking as chairman of some other body, rather than as our president.

Perhaps he should continue so to do.
