Osborne wins Greenwich contract

Osborne has won the contract to construct the University of Greenwich’s new campus in south London.

The deal for the construction and pre-construction has been awarded to the contractor, with Alan Baxter Associates the civil and structural consultants.

Project management and QS will be dealt with by Fanshawe.

The plans for the campus development, which were submitted in a planning application by the university earlier this month, include a new library, TV studios, editing suites and a School of Architecture and Construction.

The university’s main campus is situated in the Old Royal Naval College. The planned development will help focus the university’s activities in the area.

The site earmarked for the development was previously home to Greenwich Village market, which closed in 2009.
