Orr returns to his Alma Mater

ICE president David Orr was back in Queen's University Belfast (QUB) last month as guest of honour at the Engineering Society's annual dinner in the Great Hall.

Orr graduated from Queens back in 1974, returning to complete a masters in pavement management systems in 1978. The Engineering Society at Queen's is one of the University's largest with 300 students joining every year.

Orr's speech received a well-deserved standing ovation from his student audience. The top table included Professor Adrian Long, also a graduate of QUB and a past President of the ICE. Also present was president of the QUB Engineering Society, Claire Burns (pictured)
