Open house at Great George Street

ICE threw open its doors to the public last weekend and welcomed 625 visitors to Great George Street over two days, as part of London's 'Open House' weekend.

Comments in the visitors' book included the following.

'What an absolutely fabulous building - I wish I worked here!'

'I had no idea civil engineering was so interesting and had such a colourful history.'

'I only popped in because the queue at the Treasury was so large and I am so thrilled that it was. This has been an fascinating tour - I'm so glad I came.'

'The building is beautiful - you would never realise from the street how large and elaborate the rooms are.'

'I wish I had been a civil engineer - it sounds really interesting.'
