Name: Andy Sanderson

Age: 36

Qualifications: BSc(Hons), CEng, MICE

Company: Arch Henderson & Partners

Current job: Manager, Lerwick office

Best thing about working in Shetland: The surprising variety of challenges - from buildings to harbours. And as a Shetlander married to another Shetlander I find the extended family networks very supportive.

And the worst: The weather and the cost of getting to the mainland.

A return to Aberdeen is £130, which makes getting CDM days very difficult.

Anything else: I like the new look NCE except for one thing - there is too much in it about railways.
