On the spot

Cardiff Bay

Name: Peter Hunter

Age: 53

Qualifications: Degree at Imperial College. FICE One year special coastal and harbour study at Delft.

Current job: Cardiff Barrage project manager for Gibb. Technical director in Gibb Maritime.

Best thing on the project: Seeing the sluices working finally and a bay full of water

Worst job: Taking readings at Sullom Voe when it was so cold a waterfall froze in mid air and was ice particles when it hit the ground.

Anything else: When I joined Gibb I knew more about sailing than I did civil engineering.
