Sean Blissett has been appointed engineering manager for Associated British Ports' Port of Grimsby & Immingham.

He succeeds Gordon Bulter, 60, who is retiring after 15 years with the company.

Buro Happold structural engineer Richard Harris has been appointed part-time Professor of Timber Engineering at the University of Bath. His job will be to lead and develop a research programme in innovative timber engineering.

JCB has appointed Matthew Taylor as its first chief operating officer.

Following the acquisition of Seacore by Fugro, Seacore's UK office at Warwick has been relocated to Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Tony Hodgson, who has 30 years' experience with Fugro has joined Seacore's manager Andy Fielding to provide near shore marine geotechnical investigations in the UK and overseas.

Brian Cullinane has moved from Arup's London based environment team to the firm's new Dubai offi ce.

Meanwhile Arup associate Alina Kledynska has become environmental business team leader, based in Warsaw.
