Jacobs director Tony King has become chairman of the Railway Industry Association, the trade association for the UK railway supply industry.

Tube contractor Tube Lines has appointed Stephen Plumb into the new role of head of asset management. Plumb brings expertise in managing infrastructure assets from a 15 year career at Anglian Water.

Simon Bowers has been appointed as development and regeneration manager at Daventry District Council.

Chris Deighton is to become the new chief executive ofcer of the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

Deighton joins the Institution with 40 years' experience in the construction industry working principally within the northern and Midlands regions of the UK, most recently with Alfred McAlpine. He takes up his post in January.
