Gifford has appointed Chris Gooch-Butler as its new business development director.

Cost consultant EC Harris has appointed Bernd Rosoly as service delivery leader for its German operation. Rosoly, a qualified civil engineer, has 16 years international experience of working with engineering and development companies as a project manager and real estate developer.

Bovis Homes chairman Tim Melville-Ross, has been appointed as president of the Chartered Management Institute. He is a former director general of the Institute of Directors.

Buro Happold's ground engineering group has been bolstered by the appointment of Hugh Mallett, who will lead its new geoenvironmental team.
