Racal Telecom has completed a £2.5M upgrade of the National Radio Network, the Band 3 VHF network that is used throughout all areas of railway operations and engineering. Service availability has been improved by commissioning 66 new base stations, building on the population of 500 located across the UK. In addition, improved speech quality and clarity has been achieved through an innovative solution that overcomes the problem of ageing landlines.
