On the job. . .

Environment

As well as reconstructing the highway, the Agency is taking the opportunity to carry out major works to Mardle Viaduct's bridge joints, where sections of the concrete support structure will be renewed. At the same time, all remaining bridge decks throughout the length of the project will be waterproofed.

Concrete channels will replace stone filter drains for improved safety. Upgrading of existing safety barriers will also be carried out to ensure that they comply with the latest specifications.
