On the extranet trail

GROWTH in the use of online project management and project extranets will be matched by an increase in disputes, online project management firm Cadweb has warned.

'The e-project management market is now worth £5bn a year, ' said Cadweb director Francis Newman in launching Cadweb's latest evolution, cadweb. net.

'It is only a matter of time before a dispute arises on a project that is using an electronic document transfer system. When that happens, the legal admissibility of the system will be severely tested.'

'Cadweb is the only e-project management system on the UK market that provides a full, legally acceptable audit trail of every document and its sender and recipient, meeting the requirements of the British Standards ISO 17799, ' he said.
