The Association of London Graduates and Students hosted its annual mixed five-a-side football tournament at Battersea Park recently. Initially, there was some confusion over the tournament rules, with players asking: 'Are we having corners?' and 'What's that circle in front of the goal for?' However, all the players were soon able to get stuck into their silky footwork. Organiser of the event, ALGS sports secretary Kathryn Baxendale said a great day was had by all. But she added: 'The tournament was supposed to be mixed in terms of both sexes playing, but it became apparent that 'mixed' actually described the levels of football skills displayed by the various teams.' The four squads to make it through to the semi finals were AKT who took on Hannah Reed and Federation of Free Foreigners who faced Haswells, with Hannah Reed emerging as the tournament champions.
